Body Hair/ Why when somebody trims the hair on their arm, it grows back to the same length?

I understand that hair on a persons head and a man's beard constantly grows in length. But the hair on a human's arms and legs grows to a length and doesnt get any longer. So how come when I trim the hair length on my arms, it grows back to the same length it was before I cut it in half?

the hair on the arms and legs falls out once it reaches a certain length like chest hair, its the way the genes work. im not a geneologist so i dont know but anyway,
