More hair grows on the right side of my face, on my right leg, on my right arm, and on my right hand, and I get patches of hair on my right leg that aren't there on the left. Nobody I've asked before has been able to give me a reason why. I'd like a rigorous, scientific explanation for this that deals with genetics and/or physiology, preferably something more specific than "the human body is asymmetrical."

Are you sure? Have you tested whether you are a natural chimaera? (Now that could be a cool research project for a molecular bio major). Nobody is quite certain how common chimaerism is in humans but best guesses put the figure at greater than 1 in 100.

The Body is not perfectly symetrical no big deal. There is a disease that causes you to grow hair like crazy (though I think its on both sides) and makes you look like a gorrilla.

what side of your body do you sleep on? it could be you sleep on one side and are wearing the hair on tthat side off. sounds unlikely but babies do it to their heads if they lay in one position too long.
